Journalist Khalid Mohammed returns as director in the forthcoming movie Silsiilay (we’ll ignore the weird spelling of the title for now!). After his previous flicks

Fiza and Tehzeeb, will Khalid find box office luck with his third attempt at filmmaking?

The film stars Tabu alongside a long list of non A-list stars, including Bhumika Chawla, Jimmy Shergill, Ashmit Patel, Natassha, Rahul Bose, Celina Jaitley, Riya Sen

and Kay Kay Menon (lets also ignore the lack of box office draw with these ‘stars’).

The story focuses on the lives of three women. The first is Rehana (Tabu) who is stuck in the middle of a love triangle with her husband (Kay Kay) and his mistress

(Celina Jaitley).

Then there’s Bollywood star Zia (Bhumika Chawla in a freaky new look) whose career is climbing at a fast rate (if only this was true in real life for Bhumika).

However she’s about to dump the man behind her success.

Finally Anushka (Riya Sen), an office receptionist who is also in the middle of a love triangle between the man she fancies – rich boy Nikhil (Ashmit Patel) – and

the man who fancies her – office colleague Tarun (Jimmy Shergill).

Whilst Khalid Mohammed showed some talent in Fiza and pleased a few people in the rather full Tehzeeb – he desperately needs a box office blockbuster for his

career. Turning to tactics such as weird spelling of titles isn’t the way forward… lets hope Silsiiilllay is a little more original!
